CompTIA A+
Over the past 3 years I have obtained several certifications from various vendors( all official credentials can be found on my LinkedIn). This was the starting point for my IT journey where I began with the CompTIA A+ in 2020 which is a entry level certificate that validates a basic knowledge of many areas of IT including:
-
- Networking
-
- Security
-
- Hardware and Software Troubleshooting
-
- Cloud Vs On-Premise
-
- Administration
IT Career Switch:
IT career switch provided me with 12 total courses which gave me a base line understanding of IT then provided speciality courses, labs and assessments in security. The first half of the course I got hands on experience with administration and basic networking before starting my first IT job. Now over the past 12 the studies went in depth on vulnerability management, Linux administration and incident response.
Courses include
-
- CCNA Security
-
- Linux+
-
- CompTIA CYSA+
-
- CompTIA Pentest+
AWS Cloud Practitioner:
During my studies a colleague persuaded me to complete the AWS CCP as an introduction to cloud technologies and language. This was a great introduction to the capabilities of AWS and I was pleased to pass the exam on my first attempt.
ITIL Foundation:
This certification covers the management and best practices side of IT. Although I prefer technical studies I understand the importance and demand for the skills covered in this exam and I am happy to be able to put it on my CV
Fortinet NSE levels 1-3:
This set of courses need to be completed by all technical Fortinet employees and due to using Fortinet products in my current job, I thought it would be a great fit. The program is designed to provide cybersecurity professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to design, configure, install, and maintain Fortinet security solutions. This was my first vendor specific security course and was a great introduction into brand specific terms and practices.
Try Hack Me- Blue Team Analyst Certificate:
THM is a great online hands-on learning platform. I completed hands on Labs in securing Linux and Windows systems as well as performing incident response, malware detection and phishing analysis to achieve this certificate. Through doing this and additional exercises I am now ranked in the top 4% of users on the site.
Microsoft MS-900:
I decided to take this exam as I am very familiar with 365 services and wanted to get the certification to validate this knowledge. The exam covers topics such as cloud concepts, Microsoft 365 services, security, compliance, privacy, pricing, licensing, and support.
